nocturnal 7 Report post Posted November 26, 2007 rasanya?ko ingat malaysia ni tak import minyak dari negara2 pengeluar minyak, seperti yang ko kata kenaikan harga minyak adalah effect bencana alam, permintaan meningkat, dengan kejatuhan nilai dolar.kalau malaysia guna minyak sendiri memang ah.but the point is, malaysia import gak minyak dari negara luar.open up your mind, ko gak kata dok selalu chat ngn orang luar.memang tidak dinafikan kalau malaysia memberikan subsidi utk minyak di malaysia, syarikat selain petronas seperti shell, mobil, dan lain2 juga akan menerima keuntungan. tak bolehkah kalau petronas hanya mengurangkan subsidi utk minyak syarikat lain.. tetapi yg pasti permintaan utk minyak petronas pasti melonjak dan petronas perlu mencari alternatif lain..atlast..aku xdapat memahami post ko yang ntah mane pangkal hujung.tergantung.post2 ko yang lain pun aku susah nak faham. versanner 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2007 It is stated there, production cost and distribution cost need to be considered. k, the problem is, the chain-reaction within the production and distribution cost itself. They are depending on the factors such as Dollar, war, nature catastrophy, etc. All of that factors will contribute in hiking the price of the production and distribution. And also, in mid 2007, another factor came in: US brinkmanship concerning Iranian nuclear energy. Another factor is inflation, and another one is gas demand increasing within the domestic. Situations of the whole world: More cars+ more wars+need more gas+ BUT oil production decreasing (war, terrorist, source shrinking)=Price hikeAnother factor is Malaysian economic is so slow....compared to some nations in South East Asia. Some large portions in gas revenues needed to finance and balance othe sectors( which is the cost already increasing, take note on that)PS: Just my 2 centsReference, quotes from the text:1) costs of crude oil, with production and distribution costs subsidized. After the price rises, the remaining subsidies were estimated to be equivalent to 28% of average retail prices and totaled roughly RM19 billion, or about 14% of federal government spending2) In 2006, a $1 per barrel rise in the price of crude oil corresponded to RM228 million ($62 million) higher oil-related revenues. Such revenues represented 37% of central government income; however, remaining retail fuel subsidies could absorb up to one quarter of these receipts.3) Pushed by higher international energy prices, consumer prices rose by 3.6% in 2006 after 3.0% in 2005. Inflation peaked in the first half of the year after hikes of 18–24% in administered retail fuel prices in February 2006
