45nm Processors.

all the above will be the next Intel's processor & expected to be released by end 2007. specs dia saya tak boleh cakap... sorry. cuma 45nm saja. tested in Win Vista, Win XP & Linux. successfully booted.

Wah.,..Intel dah kuarkan 45nM processor...Kecik betul. Chloe, awk ni keje kat Intel ker. Semua info baru pasal Intel awk tau. Moga2 adalah instruction sets baru...Dan power consumption dia rendah sikit. Tak panas. AMD baru keluarkan 65nM...AMD bila Intel kuar baru...dia pun ikut sekali.

Nak tunggu Generasi ke-9 AMD K9 (AMD+ATi architecture - codename Fusion) - (2008/2009)

atau pikat terus next micro-arch K8L (new improvement of K8) - (Q2-Q3 2007)

Tunggu dan lihat dulu.

Intel vs AMD dan yang pening kepala para pengguna.

betul kata ko, aku pun penin. klu tolong kwn, aku belikan intel, utk pc aku sendiri - amd.

dah skrg nie... tech pc aku dah ketinggalan 2 thn. br jerk nak upgrade, dah plak nak kuar proc tech baru.. adoii..

mmg penin... xper kita tunggu dan lihat..

agak2 bleh ke tunggu sampai harga jatuh ? baper bulan harga proc/vga/ram akan jatuh lepas kuar gen baru?

Intel’s leaders say the 45nm breakthrough has extended the company’s lead over its competitors and the rest of the semiconductor industry by more than one year.

Early versions of Penryn are running Windows Vista, Mac OS X, Windows XP and Linux operating systems, and a range of applications. Intel is on track for 45nm production in the second half of 2007.

The new 45nm transistors will power the next-generation Intel® Core™2 Duo, Intel Core 2 Quad, and Intel Xeon families of multi-core processors. Intel has five early-version products up and running, both dual-core and quad-core parts—the first of fifteen 45nm processor products that Intel is planning.

Intel has been shipping chips based on its 65-nanometer manufacturing technology since late 2005, while AMD just last month introduced its first 65-nanometer chips. If Intel successfully introduces the Penryn family, it will have 45-nanometer chips out well before AMD's planned 2008 rollout of similar chips.

Smaller transistors have lots of benefits. Chip makers can improve performance by putting more transistors on the same size chip and dial-down power consumption by getting more work done. There's an economic upside as well, in that the chips themselves can be made smaller. This allows Intel and AMD to cut more chips from a single silicon wafer, reducing the cost to build an individual chip and making investors happy with fatter profit margins.

AMD has outlined plans to try to catch up to Intel, vowing to introduce its own 45-nanometer chips 18 months after its 65-nanometer chips, instead of the usual two years. Intel's Penryn demonstration puts additional pressure on that transition.

kat forum lowyat,ada forumer jual Intel Core 2 Duo e6600( engineering sample) for rm 700 sahaja..Adakah intel menjual proc versi itu kepada pihak2 tertentu seperti forumer itu?adakah harganya jauh lebih murah dari harga yg dijual oleh forumer itu?

saya pun tak tau mana mau dapat itu engineering sample. sorry. tapi memang bukan untuk dijual. unless u dari DELL, HP or any corporate customers then Intel akan sent u a few samples.

saya ada 7950GT & 8800GT engineering samples.... tapi tak boleh buat apa, coz' driver tak ada.. lol

surely by this year end, kesemua akan pergi ke core based processor... tak tau lah berapa core lagi. & for sure bukan lagi dual core. Intel sudah released kan Quad Core :) tak tau pula pasal AMD :) they reported losses last quater. Intel is back on track i would say.... by far.

Alongside Intel’s news of 45nm process technology, IBM today announced its own 45nm technological advancements that apply to products manufactured in its East Fishkill, NY plant starting in 2008.

Working with AMD and its other development partners including Sony and Toshiba, IBM has found a way to construct a critical part of the transistor with high-k metal gates, that substitutes a new material into a critical portion of the transistor that controls its primary on/off switching function. The material provides superior electrical properties compared to its predecessor, silicon dioxide, enhancing the transistor's function while also reducing leakage.

ni semua marketing strategy jek nih....

hmmm...amd mmg losses last quarter tapi still grab market share...

c2d = core 2 duo .... new intel processor last year launched

45nm, 65nm ni ukuran technology process....lagi kecik process bleh jimat wafer space... x membazir.... n selalunya dpt jgk kurangkan thermal power dll..... ko try tgk kat wikipedia....

bkn saiz wafer....tapi technology process....so 45nm saiz core processor makin kecik....so dlm 1 wafer 300mm tu dpt arr banyak core processor.... harap paham
