mothpath 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 hello..a'kum all...firstly wanna say hi to all of u...i'm newbie here...and new user of PS2 i just bought the PS2 slim from sg wang yesterday...apa yg i tak paham, wut with the two kind of mod chip...i nak tnya lebih malas plak time tuh... i tell him that i want the PS2 fully modified where can read all kind of disk...so he said okay..its RM650....then i thought "wow really cheap aa" finally after choosing the 10 free gift dvd he told me there is two kind of chip....the modchip with 1 IC and modchip with 2 IC...harganya 650 and 750 respectively...b coz i'm on the tight budget, i ask him to give me the 1 IC laa....then he told me something scary with the 1 IC..(i pun lupa apa dia ckp...tp a lil' scary la..bout the motherboard sumthin..sumthin) then trus i cakap...okay laa...gv me the 2 IC.....i just nak tahu jek...adakah saya ditipu..huhu...anybody can tell me what the heck with those IC really means?....i know here got lots of sifoo2 master of PS2 industry heheh...tq in advance... tot31 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 (edited) Since you bought a new PS2 then it should be the new slimline or PSTwo aka V12 or 7k series.PSTwo slimline nie dikenali dgn Dead Beef Syndrom maksud nyer laser coil senang terbakar. Ok tokeh cine tu mmg nak gempak ko dgn cite - cite yg menakutkan. Yg dimaksudkan 2 IC tu, sebenarnya nak main game lanun kena ada modchip (kire 1 IC). Modchip yg biasa dipakai kat PSTwo yg dijual kat Mesia ialah NH9, (klon utk Matrix Infinity). Modchip nie pun sebenarnya murah jer harga dier dlm USD9 - USD12. Tokeh kedai markup gila babas tahap cipan. Nie gambar dierYg satu lagi IC yg ciner tu cakap adalah protection utk laser coil. Biasanya satu board kecik ngan beberapa diod. Tak ada IC pun dan tak mahal dlm USD6 - USD9, jadi ko kire kena separuh tipu, ialah tambah board diod tu sampai RM100.Nie gambar dier Protection nie tak jugak 100% working tapi better ada dari tak ada. Kesimpulan mmg kita selalu kena tipu beli beli PS2 kat Sg Wang ke mana - mana pun lah....Jadi dah beli main je..jgn nyesal. Aku cadangkan utk ko nak lanjutkan usia laser PSTwo slim ko tu, beli dan pasang HD Connect. Bubuh semua game dlm hdd, main dari hdd. gmos 1 Report post Posted June 16, 2005 (edited) Hi mothpath,1st sekali nak welcome u sebab sudi register dan berforum kat sini FYI,harege pasaran PS2 lame dekat kedai(tak kira samada used/baru/refurbished),dlm lingkungan rm750 ke rm899+ bergantung pada jenis modchip dan accessori tambahan.dan utk PS2 slim biasenya atas rm700..kalau kedai tu offer bawah dari rm700 utk pakej basik(tanpa memory card),itu adalah taktik semata2..biasenya diorang cakap harege 600+ tu dia dah siap mod.tapi sebenarnya belum.dia akan gebang cakap modchip murah tak power..atau macam kes awak pasang satu tapi bahaya lah apa lah..akhirnya dia cadang tuk pasang chip yg elok dan semestinya kena top-up la..tapi ade setengah kedai yg seller nya agak jujur,awal2 diakan cakap rm650 tu takde modchip..jadi kena la tambah dlm rm150 ke200+ utk modchip pilihan..kalau awak terlepas pandang..sebelum ni pun saye dah post satu kes kat summit..buleh baca kat sini : http://forum.putera.com/tanya/index.php?act=...ndpost&p=139599 Edited June 16, 2005 by gmos Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

(am i right??).for no 2, when i went to sg wang, the towkey (3rd floor) offered me 3 types of ps2. unmodified (550), modified with m1 chip (700), m2 chip (850). he said m1 chip can't play all dvds but m2 chip can play all the dvds.Luckly, i went to the first floor and bought my ps2 there (gt3 limited edition) modified with Magic chip 3.1 plus for just RM700 (with adapter). oxy 1 Report post Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) my tips. go to the third/forth floor (surau's floor), there is a small ps2 shop. try 2 bargain. u can get an original ps2 mem card for Rm65. Original price rm70. (Sg wang)dun buy on the first floor. they sell ps2 mem card 4 a high price.My advice to ppl who want 2 buy ps2.. dun go to Sg wang. better buy somewhere else coz there are a lot of cheaters there. Only go to sg wang 4 DVD games. Becoz..1. I think all the ps2 shops on the first floor controlled by a Taiko coz all the ps2 prices are the same. then they use same tactic 2 cheat users. For example. Last time i went 2 sg wang. They said "u want Rm700 ps2 or Rm800 ps2?". He said Rm700 ps2 can only last for 2 weeks. Then he said Rm800 ps2, the graphics are better. I asked and asked and all the shops on the frst floor give the same info. LOL. if the ps2 can only stand 4 2 weeks, then they want 2 sell the ps2. One more thing, ps2 graphics are standart. So, better bring some pro with you. Actually, the want u 2 pay more.Yup, it;s true that modchips can make the ps2 price higher but for sg wang, i can say 90% lies.2. ps2s in sg wang seems second hand and low quality.For more info, u can ask Djin (lowyat), he sells ps2.
