core i7 ade balik hyperthreading.. same macam pentium 4 HT.. tapi games skarang tak support lagi level 3 cache.. level 2 cache core i7 cuma 2mb.. tu la ada orang kata core 2 extreme lagi power dari core i7..

Quad core kadang2 beat core i7, yorkfield sekarang pun L2 cache dah 12MB.. Core i7 L2 cache 4x256kB je.. Memang L3 cache dier 8MB tapi most of games skarang gune L2 cache je... Games yang akan datang baru akan fully use core i7 ni...

adesss...Intel baru sekarang baru ada i7 meaning trully Quadcore..amd dah Phenom II quadcore.sampai tahap level II dah....Core 2 duo is not Quadcore...AMD xsampai 45nm pun Intel dah goyah...kuar Phenom II berkampung la nak kejar...ekekekek.....

AMD Demos Upcoming Six-core “Istanbul” Server Processor

Sunnyvale, Calif. — Feb. 25, 2009 — Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE: AMD) today announced it recently completed live public demonstrations of its upcoming six-core 45nm AMD Opteron™ processor, codenamed “Istanbul.” Scheduled to launch in the second half of this year, “Istanbul” is expected to be the only x86 six-core processor available for two- and four-socket systems and higher.

The demonstration featured a live, seamless upgrade of a system based on 45nm Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors to “Istanbul” processors. “Istanbul” is socket- and thermal-compatible with currently shipping AMD Opteron processor-based systems. The AMD consistent platform approach helps reduce qualification times for OEMs and solution providers, while giving end-users the opportunity to upgrade their existing systems.

“Thus far we see impressive performance and performance-per-watt results in our initial ‘Istanbul’ testing. We expect global OEMs and solution providers to begin shipping systems based on ’Istanbul’ in the second half of this year,” said John Fruehe, director of business development, Server Workstation, AMD.

anyway bg aku for less budget amd still the winner...beli i7 bermakna 1 set kena tukar...dr proc sampai la ke mainboard...utk tu jer dah habis hampir 3 ribu...lum lg letak gc yg latest skrg nih...but for amd phenom 2 kpd user yg mmg dah beli mainboard AM2+ x perlu keluar duit nak beli mainboard baru...maybe just tmbh psu yg lebih kuat dan processor jer...so bg aku la utk perfomance yg mantap dan laju phenom 2 pun dah ckp...Intel klu laju sgt tp harga mahal dan demanding hardware2 len sakit gak...berapa % org yg mampu pakai i7 berbanding phenom2...korg semua cubala buat kira-kira matematik sendiri...klu kata rugi beli phenom 2 pun, korg ingat beli i7 x rugi ke??huhu...lu pikirlah sendiri...

Ape maksud truly quadcore? Core i7 bukan je dah truly quadcore, malah dah macam 8 core, 4 core dengan 8 thread.. Phenom 2 bukan maksudnye phenom dah level 2.. Phenom 2 ade 4 cores dengan 4 threads je pun.. tak dapat kalahkan core i7 pun..

Tambah pulak dengan ddr3 technologi, intel quickpath interconnects, improved CRC bits, amd dah ketinggalan jauh..
AMD should concentrate on competing core i7..

Intel is currently moving to 32nm fabrication process... AMD baru je gune 45nm fabrication process...

aku setuju..setakat cakap facts je,aku pun boleh..tapi sebenarnya merasa perbezaan spec pc kita (amd+ati,amd+nvidia,intel+nvidia,intel+ati..) tu adalah lebih penting..sama la macam tajuk thread ni..kalau aku oc pc aku kaw2,run game smooth+benchmark pecah world record,aku pun bangga..nak gaduh pun xboleh la kawan2,masing2 ada pro and contra nya..heh ::icon_silent::
