We are pleased to invite all undergraduates who are currently studying in local institutions of higher learning to participate in this competition1st PRIZE RM30002nd PRIZE RM20003rd PRIZE RM10003 CONSOLATION PRIZES RM500GENERAL GUIDELINES * This competition is open to all undergraduates who are currently studying in local (private / public) institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. *Each participant is limited to ONE (1) submission only and the short story must be written in English. *The submitted short story should be based on the theme “50 years of Independence†and MUST NOT exceed 3000 words. *Each participant is required to submit two (2) hardcopies of the same manuscript and each manuscript must be typed, double-spaced, font Arial, size 12 on one side of white A4 paper. *The title of the manuscript should appear as header on the top right hand corner of each numbered page. *The cover page of the manuscript must include the following details: title, word count, author’s name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address and name of institution. Do not include these details on the text pages. *Kindly refrain from attaching additional materials such as illustrations and synopsis. *All entries must be original and have not been submitted or published elsewhere. Participants who infringe this rule will be automatically disqualified from the competition. *Materials received will not be returned. The organisers reserve the right to publish the stories. *Each submission must be accompanied by a completed entry form which bears the institution’s official stamp. *Once a manuscript is submitted, substitutions of new drafts will not be entertained under any circumstances. *All entries must be postmarked on or before 30th June 2007. Late entries will not be accepted. Winners will be notified via telephone, mail and e-mail. *The organisers will not be held responsible for entries lost or damaged. *The judges’ decisions are final. *The organisers reserve the right to amend the conditions and prizes of the competition. Prizes are non-transferable.
