  3. im confused, kenapa kerajaan nak spend berjuta2 for a student antar pegi Russia buat Medic bila last skali graduate takleh nak practice kat Malaysia? laugh.gif i think, you should go and check directly with accredition website and look whether it is really recognised or it isn't.

if i were you, i'll go for the medic programme in russia if i get offered, if i didn't , i'll go for medic programme in uitm instead. either way, i still get to do medic, which is the right track where i wanna me in my life.

dear misscurious, you're still in a state of dilemma, where whenever people say something to you, without supporting with any supporting details or evidence, you take it as a legitimate testimonials (which is not of course). in legal terms we call it 'hearsay'.

you have to find out yourself the authenticity of those arguments. i am not sure why lecturers specifically discouraging its students to do meds in UKM. i abstain from commenting on this. laugh.gif

    ambk matrix
    bg aq la
    lagipon byk bende leh bljar

Well, it of course depends on the individual himself.

Say, matric, ko kene compete dekat Matric (hampir 50 ribu orang?), berbanding Asasi (seribu? tak sampai 2 ribu pun), less competition equals to high probability in furthering your study.. and jangan lupa, asasi is in university environment, blaja dengan lecturers yg berpengalaman yg ajar budak2 Medic sendirik, etcs. tak macam matrix , lecturers yg mengajar situ pun penah belajar dekat situ juga beberapa tahun sebelumnya kan laugh.gif

To say "banyak bende leh blajar" kat matrix, is a complete fallacy in my opinion.

relax oke, guard main campus semuanya sangatlah baik sekali (kecuali yg ada misai tu jaga2 sikit haha) .. yg penting bila dia tahan ko ada matrix card, buat masa nih, ko cakap ah tengah apply lagi tak dapat agi.. haha ..lepak oke happy.gif

There have been cases of students from Asasi getting really excellent results in first semester, where lecturers will approach to you and ask whether you wanna further your study abroad (in my case was an ex-asasi undang2 offered to Cambridge to do his Law), and he said yes.. but he had to prove that he is up for it by getting good results in final semester too.. and he made it. happy.gif .. I believe it is possible, as my friend did it too,.. get good results, get offer from the uni, and get sponsored/loan from somewhere like JPA to further your studies.

    to izwan...

is it true that from this asasi undang2 programme,we can be offered into study abroad?..

cuz i am from this programme as well and i never know about it before...

when u say excellent results, what is the standard that needed?...i mean do we need to get excellent pointer?

Well, I can't really be certain about this too as it is not written at all in any paper. As rarely as it maybe, it is on case by case basis I guess. If you can perform and get 4 flat or be the best student for the first semester, the lecturer will come to you and ask whether you want to further studies abroad. If you say yes, the Law Faculty will write a formal application to recommend you to further your studies abroad, may it be Kent or even Cambridge, if you're that good of course. Why not?

As I've stated earlier, it is very rare as it is run on case by case basis, and not written, conventions perhaps? smile.gif

Well, anything is possible nowadays. As long you want it so badly... try your best. I did not get any offer at all for my UPU. But I wrote a letter to UPU people requesting to review my application over again for the appeal intake. I explained how much I love Law, my passions in doing it, and why I deserved the appeal instead of other people. I believe most of my batch at that time won't write an appeal letter because majority at that time felt that it is computerized thus appeal letter is just unnecessary and waste of time. But it isn't. I got the appeal and got admitted to Asasi Undang-Undang 2 weeks after they have already started their classes already. So what? I'm doing my first year in Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons.) now in UiTM despites those people who started their classes early doing Business courses in other unis or other courses.

To the thread starter, never stops, and try your best. As the saying goes, Winners Never Quit and Quitter Never Wins.

    thanks a lot izwan...

your information really help me to make a desicion...

maybe this will be the other question that need your help...

if there was a chance for me to pursue my study in medicine, is it only the student from asasi sains can pursue their study in medicine course.... blink.gif unsure.gif

n let says i got the chance to further my syudy in asasi UM (pasum), perhaps... can i continue my degree in the other university which not offered any asasi program such as UKM, USM n ect....

after i refer to the refrense, is it the only chance to study in oversea is opened or offered for those SPM candidates n the chance to study in oversea is bigger when we use the SPM result.. wacko.gif

No worries, i was in the same shoes as you are in right now in making decision that will change your forever, haha kidding. anyways, in answering your questions..

As far as I know, Asasi Sains is a very general subject where you will learn Math, Biology, Physics, Chemistry . Quite similar like in Matrix I guess. It's just that you're studying it with very senior lecturers teaching Degree university students (or very young graduate lecturers! DEPENDS!). And of course, not to forget, during the course of study too, you will take your MUET. Upon finishing the course of study, you will be able to further your studies in various fields related to sciences like Pharmacy, Medic or even Engineering and others that related to it.

As for PASUM, I am not very sure though. You might want to call them up and confirm with how things goes there of the current policies.

Answering your question of whether or not one can further abroad with SPM result, I have to say I am myself not very sure about this. Currently two majors sponsors are of course JPA and MARA. I have also been told in some discussions that MARA usually picks students from MARA boarding schools to be admitted in their programme, not sure though.

Finally, you have to research more on opinions of people in making your decision, not just me. (This is my disclaimer lol!) Try this one too http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/655483

    Good luck.

    may i know...
btol ke klu kite amik asasi kat uitm let says...
kte bley continue study medic kat other u....
    unsure.gif unsure.gif

or whenever we take the asasi program in that u so that we needs to continue study in any course but still in the same u!!! ph34r.gif

Currently in Malaysia, as far as I know there are three IPTA that offers Asasi programmes which are UM (PASUM) http://asasi.um.edu.my/show.php?key=Kemasukan , UITM (Asasi) http://www1.uitm.edu.my/index.php?option=c...6&Itemid=30 and UIA (Foundation) http://www.iiu.edu.my/asasi/

So, in answering your question, I will say that it depends on which Asasi that you have been offered. You really have to double-check again with UPU people before assuring your choices because I am myself not sure of the current status of both programmes offered, but be quick and assured. But as far as I know, if you get Asasi Sains UiTM, you will further your study in UiTM. Same goes to IIU Foundation.

Make sure your results meets the CRITERIA of the courses that you want to do. The computerize system doesn't have any mercy. I've seen my friends not getting courses that they want because they did not get the required result to get through. I know this may sound cruel, but if you really have good result that is not a fool-proof that you'll be offered. UPU have quotas each year on how many admission for each courses that they want to take. Example, if in 2009 the gov. feels that they are not much lawyers around, they will increase the quotas for admission for Asasi Undang-Undang. Same goes for Medic etcs. So it is not stagnant.

Believe me, I was in the same situation as you were before. Maybe the nature of the course is very much different, but I am very certain that the dilemma is quite similar. Whatever it is, no pressure, and make rational choice that will change your life forever! happy.gif

#edit-1 below are some of the previous discussions that might help you deciding..

tak tau nak masuk asasi or matrics...
tuk taun ni nye asasi perubatn after spm under upu tak banyak, yg penting UM,UKM,USM x de!
btolke jalan nak msuk medicine course ni mesti msk matrics or stpm je...
klu bley sye nak msk asasi upu tp sye confuse....

    Hi misscurious.

If I were you , and were offered with those two options either Matrix or Asasi, I will go for Asasi ____ (whatever you wanna do).

I am an ex-Asasi Undang-Undang (KPTM) before this and currently now I'm doing my first year Bachelor of Legal Studies (Hons.) in UiTM Shah Alam (main campus).

Saya mempunyai beberapa orang rakan yang mengambil jurusan Asasi Sains dan beberapa lagi dalam Asasi Farmasi.. Kebanyakan mereka berjaya sambung Degree in Medic dan juga Pharmacy.

Menjawab soalan saudari, berikut adalah beberapa info yang saya tahu mengenai Program Asasi terutamanya Perubatan (i will try:).

    2. blaja dekat universiti... pegi kampus same2 dengan budak degree.. blaja dengna lecturers yg ajar students fulltime... dapat rasa suasana universiti , tak macam budak2 form6 dok lagi pakai baju sekolah, tak macam budak2 matrix dok lagi kat "kolej matrikulasi ______" .. boleh boosts your self esteem to work hard so that you can stay.. smile.gif
    3. the best choice there is. undeniably, you cant get any other best option than this. of course, if you always have the dream to further your studies in Cambridge, Oxford etcs, then you should go to Form 6 or go do A-lvls in private uni. As for local uni, Asasi is the best choice and the right track for you to get your degree in Medicine compared to other paths that are still uncertain.

Good luck. If you need anything, more infos etcs just ask okay. I once had this difficulties too in choosing either Form 6 or Matrix, but I got Asasi. haha happy.gif
