cat5 max = 100 meter

cat6 max = 100 meter

perbezaan antara cat5 ngan cat6 is the shielding..cat5 will be unshielded or shielded in each of the four twisted pair

manakala cat6 is shielded in each wire..so there you go. biggrin.gif

i see.. thanks ye polyfuze.. bukan apa.. company kawan ni tanya.. kalau pakai cat5, berapa jauh kita boleh pakai tanpa mengakibatkan data loss... sama juga dengan cat6.

so, kesimpulannya, jawapannya adalah sama..

aie.....ada beza aaarrr....... rasanya cat6 tuh jauh lagi. logically, of course shielded tuh jauh lagi max length dier....... cat5 tu lama punya...skrang byk guna cat6......cat7....... saya pernah guna cat5......sambung tak sampai 100m pon, signal tak sampai tapi connected......tukar pkai cat6.....ok..... signal sampai......so, conclusionnya.....sendiri pandai....dah cukup besar...cukup berat nak buat decision.....oppsssss.....ada org sensitif hal berat2 nih!

Balas forum ni salinan ler skali kat email gua....dpt reply [email protected]. hehehe......

Cat 6: defined by the ANSI TIA/EIA 568B-2.1. It is suitable for 1000 Base-T Ethernet up to 100 m

Cat 5 :100 m

Cat 5e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 for use with 1000BASE-T (gigabit) networks, or for long-distance 100BASE-TX links (350 m, compared with 100 m for Cat 5)

What is the difference between CAT-5, CAT-5e, CAT-6, CAT-7...

The Simple Answer:

CAT-5 is rated to 100M

CAT-5e is rated to 350M

CAT-6 and CAT6e is rated to 550M or 1000M depending on your source

CAT-7 is supposedly rated to 700M or presumably 1000M
