Tak silap aku ATi rebranding Hd4870 ke HD4860 kot..
HD4850 & HD4870 base kepada RV770 GPU. (HD4850 = RV770 Pro, HD4870 = RV770 XT) ::icon_biggrin::
HD4860 plak base kpd RV790 GPU, sama spt HD4890 guna. (HD4860 = RV790 GT, HD4890 = RV790 XT)

So, HD4860 ni spt under-clocked dari HD4890 la..dan Chipset RV790 slightly improve performance berbanding HD4850 & HD4870..
lagi satu Power draw HD4860 ni terendah bg sume Perfomer HD4XXX series. Ni draftly tested nye result dari EggXpert:

- HD4890 = 190w max
- HD4870 = 150w max
- HD4850 = 110w max
- HD4860 = 80w max

have wasted some time and found reason of this bug. Hope nvidia will fix it soon.

Symptoms:
There is long pause during installiation of the driver. Installation ends with "Your system has not been modified" without error. Manual installiation via Device Manager fails due timeout. Nvidia control panel vanishes.

Diagnosis:
You have rare windows regional settings. Nvidia driver installer does not work correctly with such regional settings.

Solution:
Temporarry change system regional settings to more common. It can be changed back after installation of the driver.
Note that you need to change local system settings, not just user's settings.
(On windows vista: go Start->Control Panel->Classic View->Regional and Language Options. On the "Formats" tab change "Current format" to "English (United States)". Apply. Then on "Administative" tab press "Copy to reserved accounts" button. Check "System accounts (local system, local service, and network service)" and apply.)

Explanation:
"185.85_desktop_winvista_64bit_international_whql.exe" and other versions include "PhysX_9.09.0408_SystemSoftware.exe" (refered as PhysX installer below).
During driver installiation process PhysX installer is called with "/quiet SKIP_PPU_DRIVER_INSTALL=1" command line parameters under SYSTEM account.
PhysX installer includes set of regional definitions for different localizations. This installer automaticaly chooses localization according to system regional settings to have corresponding appearance for a user.
PhysX installer includes definitions for many of possible regional settings, it supports 30 different languages. In case if system has some rare regional settings PhysX installer shows list of possible languages and asks to select one of them.

Bug:
The problem is that PhysX installer's language selection list is shown even with "/quiet" command line parameter when installer is supposed to don't communicate with user.
So if user has rare regional settings ("ukrainian" in my case) PhysX installer will show language selection dialog even with "/quiet" key.
But during driver installiaction PhysX installer is started under SYSTEM account and dialog box is shown on the system (hidden) desktop.
So user can't see this dialog box and can't select appropriate language to resume installation process.
Installation blocks on this language selection. it waits for user input which can never be done.
In 5 minutes driver installation fails due to timeout. And, by the way, it does not properly roll back but it's another story (185.85_desktop_winvista_64bit_international_whql.exe says "your system has not been modified", but actually windows will use newer video driver files installed and this will happen without correct nvidia control panel and PhysX installed)

I hope next versions of nvidia software will work correctly in the Ukraine ;-)
